About Ridgeline Exteriors

Our Story

Ridgeline Exteriors was founded in 2008 by a crew of experienced siding installers who believed there was a better way to run an exterior contracting business in the Chicago suburbs. Not better in the sense of flashier marketing or slicker sales tactics — better in the sense of doing the work right, treating every homeowner honestly, and building a reputation through results rather than promises.

In those early years, we worked primarily in Naperville and the immediately surrounding communities, taking on residential projects one at a time and building our reputation through referrals. In 2010, we added our first full-time estimating and project management staff. In 2013, we achieved the James Hardie Preferred Contractor designation after meeting the manufacturer's requirements for documented installation history, technical training, and quality standards — a designation we've maintained every year since.

By 2015, we'd expanded our service area to cover all of DuPage, Will, Kane, and Kendall counties and launched our commercial division to serve builders, developers, and property managers who needed a siding partner capable of operating at scale without sacrificing the installation quality that residential clients expect. Today, our commercial team completes projects ranging from individual commercial buildings to multi-property HOA communities and new construction partnerships with regional homebuilders.

Through 17 years and more than 1,200 installations, one thing has remained constant: the homeowner who invited us onto their property is trusting us with their most valuable asset. Every project we take on reflects that responsibility — in how we prepare the site, how we source and stage materials, how we communicate through the process, and how we leave the property at the end of each day. That's not a sales pitch. It's how we've built a business that earns a 4.9-star rating and relies almost entirely on referrals to keep our schedule full.

Why We Started With James Hardie

When we were building the foundation of Ridgeline's technical approach in 2008, we evaluated every major siding manufacturer. James Hardie wasn't the easiest product to install — it's heavier than vinyl, requires specialty tooling and respiratory protection for silica dust, and demands precise installation to maintain the manufacturer's warranty. But it was — and still is — the most durable residential siding product on the market for Chicago's climate, and we believed that the contractors who took the time to learn it correctly would have a permanent advantage over those who chose the path of least resistance.

Earning the Preferred Contractor designation in 2013 validated that belief. Today, we're one of a small number of contractors in DuPage County who can legitimately claim Preferred status — which means our installations qualify for the full 30-year manufacturer's warranty and our clients have recourse through James Hardie if any product issue arises. That protection matters, and it's one of the clearest differentiators between Ridgeline and contractors who claim to install Hardie without the credential to back it up.

Community Ties

Ridgeline Exteriors has been part of the Naperville community since the beginning. We sponsor youth sports programs in the Naperville Park District, participate in the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, and have worked with several local nonprofit organizations on exterior rehabilitation projects over the years. When our clients' neighbors ask who did the siding, the conversation usually starts with "they're a local company" — and that means something to us.
